Event Timing
- Volunteer Arrival: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift to enjoy breakfast, receive your volunteer t-shirt, and prepare for your role.
- Event Site Opens for Volunteers: 7am
- Event Site Opens for Participants: 8am
- Program Start Time: 9:30am
- Walk Kickoff: 10am

Pre-Event Volunteer Training
To help everyone feel confident and prepared, we're hosting a 30-minute volunteer prep call the Wednesday before each walk at 12pm (in your time zone).

Volunteer FAQs
- Where do I check-in?
- There will be volunteer check-in table located at each walk. To find, view links above.
- Where do I park?
- Parking is different at every site. Please look at the parking/transportation options for each walk HERE.
- Please note that some some sites have paid parking as an option - if this is a barrier to you volunteering, please email gtuggle@Shatterproof.org.
- Will food be provided?
- Yes! Breakfast will be available for volunteers. If you have dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly.
- Snacks, coffee, and water will be available as well.
- What should I wear?
- Your volunteer t-shirt (provided at check-in)
- Closed toed shoes
- Dress according to the weather - we will be outside!
- What should I bring?
- A refillable water bottle
- Sunscreen, hat, or rain gear depending on forecast
- Anything else to keep you comfortable during your shift
- Signed consent form by parent/guardian if under 18
- Can my role change on event day?
- Yes - flexibility is appreciated! We may ask you to support in a different role based on event needs.
- What if I can't make it?
- Please let us know ASAP!
- On event day, call Gab Tuggle (Volunteer Engagement Director) at 203-595-4079 if you're no longer able to attend.
