Harm Reduction Resources

Pledge to Carry Naloxone
Prepare to save someone’s life today.

During a health emergency, research shows that bystanders are more likely needed to administer naloxone than to provide CPR.

The truth is that naloxone is safe and effective. It is an emergency response tool — just like an EpiPen or an inhaler. By carrying naloxone with you and learning how to administer it, you could help save lives.
Recognize an Overdose
Drug overdoses can happen to anyone, anywhere, at anytime. Know the signs so you can help in an emergency.
Respond to Overdose
You have the power to save a life. If someone is experiencing an overdose, here's what you can do to help.
Reverse an Overdose
Understand how naloxone (Narcan) reverses opioid overdoses, where to get it, and how you can be prepared to help in a critical moment.
How to Get Naloxone
  • NEXTDistro - This naloxone mailing program thrives through collaboration with over 30 harm reduction programs nationwide.
  • Major pharmacy chains like CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart typically carry naloxone.
  • Community Programs - Many local orgs distribute free naloxone kits, especially through:
    • Harm reduction organizations
    • Syringe service programs
    • Community health clinics
    • Local health departments
  • Public Distribution Programs - Some communities provide naloxone through vending machines, mail programs, or public health campaigns to increase access.
